WITH BREASTFEEDING
Families who choose to breastfeed face countless barriers; these barriers are not part of a personal problem, they a part of a public health issue.
Since 1996 the Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition (MBC) has advocated for countless breastfeeding families. This advocacy has taken place in many forms: powerful image campaigns inside the Boston T, influential letters to government and agencies for equality in breastfeeding care, taking on healthcare systems to ‘ban the bags’, leading a nationwide effort to increase access to breastfeeding support (ZipMilk), and providing scholarships to women from culturally diverse communities.
WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
The call to action-breastfeeding advocacy never rests and the May 2019 rebranding and relaunch of MBC brought a new focus in supporting human milk as the normative standard for infant feeding, nutrition, and health. Together, with our supporters, valued members, and volunteers, are bringing light and action toward improving breastfeeding wellness and we will continue to work towards decreasing current gaps in support for those who are providing human milk.
