Mass. Baby-Friendly
ABOUT
THE COLLABORATIVE
STARTED IN NOVEMBER 2008 WITH JUST 4 FACILITIES WHO WERE ALREADY ON THE PATHWAY AND NOW INCLUDES OVER 15 OF MATERNITY FACILITIES IN THE COMMONWEALTH WHO ARE DESIGNATED BABY-FRIENDLY.
We share support, resources, and experiences. The Collaborative is one of the major reasons that Massachusetts has been so successful in the designation of Baby-Friendly Facilities.
The success has also been bolstered by the Mother-Baby Summit held every spring and by the Breastfeeding in the Bay State annual conference held every fall.
FOCUS
The current focus of this working group is on making improvements in care to promote exclusive breastfeeding in the hospital.
We do training, technical assistance, and collaboration with your colleagues at other hospitals.
By the end of the workshop, each hospital will have a concrete plan for implementing on achievable change in practice toward evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
