Milestone: Brigham & Women’s is Baby-Friendly!

Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts’ largest maternity facility with over 6400 births per year, is now a designated Baby-Friendly Hospital. As one of the nation’s leaders in training physicians in maternity and newborn care, this designation can be expected to have a ripple effect. The new designation of such a large maternity hospital now catapults the number of births in Baby-Friendly facilities in the state to 30.1% from 21.2%. BWH becomes Massachusetts’ 16th Baby-Friendly facility. Seven others are on the pathway.
