St Luke’s is Baby-Friendly, putting Baby-Friendly births over 21%

St Luke’s Hospital and Medical Center in New Bedford is now a designated Baby Friendly hospital. With nearly 1500 births per year, Massachusetts now has 21.2% of its births in Baby-Friendly facilities and 15 Baby-Friendly facilities. The announcement comes as the Massachusetts Baby-Friendly Collaborative celebrates its tenth anniversary. One of the first such collaboratives in the nation, the collaborative started with just one Baby-Friendly Hospital. Nearly all maternity facilities in the state have participated.
